Packing For The Singing School

University Park Apartments do not provide linen service, so you will need to bring your own sheets (single bed), pillow, and towels. You will be at the school from Sunday night through Thursday night. You may dress casual during the school. But -- please -- no shorts in the Bible Building.

Driving To Abilene

Abilene, Texas is 185 west of Dallas, Texas on Interstate 20, and it is 150 miles east of Midland, Texas on the same freeway. The campus of A.C.U. is only a couple of blocks off the Interstate 20 freeway. The tall Bible Building rotunda and tower can easily be seen from the freeway. If you plan to drive to Abilene and plan to travel on interstate 20, you can find the university by following your eyes.

Singing School registration will take place on Sunday afternoon in the lower area of the rotunda of the Bible Building. Follow your eyes to that building and park in the parking lot next to the Bible Building. Doors to the Bible Building will be open facing the inside of the campus on Sunday afternoon. You can register between noon and 4:30 PM. If you cannot arrive by 4:30 PM please let us know so we can make special arrangements to register you later.

Flying To Abilene

American Airlines brings commuter flights into Abilene from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport and from Midland. If you want to fly to Abilene, give us advanced notice and we will provide you with ground transportation to and from the airport.

Arriving Early

You may come early if you wish. Let us know of your plans so we can secure you a room in the apartments early. It will cost you an additional $15 per day for a room in the apartments. Your meal ticket does not begin until 5:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.

Planning Your Trip Home

We urge every student to make no plans to begin your trip home before noon on Friday, July 20. The singing school will not end until that time. The noon meal on Friday will be the last meal on your cafeteria meal ticket.
